How Deep the Father's Love for Us...

Just like every other Lord's Day, I'll be letting you know, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), that I'm heading to go worship with my church family.

Being able to worship with fellow Christians, is truly a blessing to me!  Hopefully, it is to you, also.

Worshipping Him, is so very special to me.  It is very important.  This way, I can honour and glorify Him!

Of course, if you've read LwL for any amount of time, you'll be aware that I love to worship Him, through music, also.

With this month of October, being time of remembrance of loss, of both my dad and my now deceased husband Gordon, I thought about a song that I adore.

It is written by Stuart Townsend, and is entitled, How Deep the Father's Love for Us.  Here is a link for you to listen and/or sing along:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngIR-EtbvQo.  The lyrics are below.

How Deep the Father's Love for Us

How deep the Father's love for us,
How vast beyond all measure;
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure.
How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away;
As wounds which mar the Chosen One
Bring many sons to glory.

Behold the Man upon the cross
My sin upon His shoulders;
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers.
It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished;
His dying breath has brought me life--
I know that it is finished.

I will not boast in anything,
No gifts, no power, no wisdom;
But I will boast in Jesus Christ,
His death and resurrection.
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer.
But this I know with all my heart:
His wounds have paid my ransom.

Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer.
But this I know with all my heart:
His wounds have paid my ransom.

...His wounds have paid my ransom.

Yes, His wounds have paid my ransom.

Just as we read, in 1 John 4:10, "Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins."

How deep God the Father's love was for us, that even before we were brought to this earth, He loved us so very much that He sent His only begotten Son to earth, to be the propitiation for our sins.

Yes, our sins.  My sin.  And, your sin.  That is, if you are believing upon Him.

If you are believing upon Him, our Lord, Jesus Christ, then you are saved.  Saved from spending eternity in Hell, with no chance of escape.

Saved, from experiencing God's wrath.  Wrath, that will be experienced by all who are unsaved, and will be punished through God's vengeance.

For, if you are truly saved, your name will be in the Lamb's Book of Life.  And, you will be rewarded by God.

For this, I praise Him.  And, thank Him.

Hallelujah!

Until next time...
