In yesterday's Life with Lynnie (LwL) entry, I discussed a bit about my worship time with my church family.
Today, I'll be letting you know about some time I spent on Saturday, with my church family.
Yes, I spent time with them in the fellowship room. But, it turned out to be very different than what I expected.
You see, I attended a bridal shower.
Before I arrived at our church building, I expected to participate in the type of shower that is rather typical in nature. This turned out to be not the case.
As I entered our fellowship room, I saw men.
My first thought was that they were probably there talking with each other, after dropping off some of their female family members. But, this wasn't what happened.
The men stayed throughout the whole shower!
Another thing was very different. We all enjoyed dinner, together!
This was absolutely unexpected, on my part. I truly thought we would just have some cake, and/or sweet treats, with coffee and tea.
No one told me we would be sharing dinner together, so I was very surprised. But, knowing that I had a late lunch, and not yet had dinner, I was grateful!
As per a normal type shower, we women played some games. But, as time went on, men became involved in more than normal games.
The laughing that was heard, was unbelievable! Between laughter and smiles, I must admit, I was thrilled I had been able to attend.
And, felt rather loved, by my church family. The made sure they involved each and every person in attendance. Including me.
Thinking about the importance of being loved, reminded me of Matthew 22:37, "Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind."
Now, please don't misunderstand me. I'm not saying that we need to be loved, the way we need to love our Lord.
What I am referring to, is the fact that all these people love God so much, and place our Lord first in their lives, that the love they have overflows onto fellow Christians.
All this is done, because they all love our Lord, with all their heart, soul and mind. And, the love they feel spills over, towards others.
All I can say is... hallelujah!
I am truly thankful for the Lord leading me to this church family. I truly feel happy, and blessed... being accepted not just into church membership, but being accepted as everyone's sister in the Lord.
Thank You, Lord!
Until next time...
