It seems that I'm behind in discussing some things, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL).
What I'm referring to today, is the fact that some Christian friends of mine, meet at Tim Horton's on the first (1st) Friday of each month. When I say some Christian friends, I am truly not referring to all, because not all my Christian friends meet there.
In the past, before my health's surgical problems began a couple of years ago, I used to meet with them, every month. Unfortunately, there were times that I couldn't meet with them, due to my physical situation, and sometimes due to not being able to drive.
Until I met on the first (1st) Friday in August this year, I hadn't been with the group for a long time. Actually, since last year.
It was shocking to me to see how few people attended, that evening! Of course, some people were probably on vacation, or were taking advantage of good weather, or spending time with family, possibly.
Even so, I was glad I went.
On the first (1st) Friday of September, I once again, drove across town to enjoy some fellowship time with the group. I fully expected to see more people attend. But, I was wrong. :(
There was less people that turned out.
This was truly shocking to me. Especially, since I had invited six (6) new people to come out and join me and the others for some fellowship time.
Out of the six (6) people I invited, only one (1) showed up.
At first, this might seem discouraging. However, in my mind, I was thankful for the one (1) person, who joined us. Thank you, F! It was wonderful to see you, that evening!
Believe me when I say I prayed about this. Both silently while there, and afterwards, on my way home.
Thinking of this situation and about praying, brought to mind Colossians 4:2,"Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;"
After praying even while driving home (as I mentioned, previously), I left it in God's hands.
Like normal, I turned on my computer when after I arrived home. And, checked my e-mail.
There was an e-mail message from the leader of our group that had met that evening. Apparently, she had been in USA for a few months, and had just arrived home... in time to attend a wedding she had been invited to, that was being celebrated that very same evening.
The next day, last Saturday, I met with Y, and with another group member L, who also hadn't been able to attend on the Friday evening. I must admit, I praised God for this!
Even though it was only the three (3) of us who met at the same Tim Horton's location, it seemed we had a wonderful time. Girl time! :)
We shared in much conversation, with laughter resonating, the whole time.
Thank You, Lord! I am so very thankful for my single Christian friends I was able to meet up with. And, am thankful for all others, who weren't able to attend.
May God bless each of them. And, you too, my friend.
Until next time...
