O Great God!

Once again, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I'll be saying that I'm going to worship, with my church family.  And, attend Bible study.

Worshipping with my church family is a wonderful experience.  They are loving people.  People who reach out in love to others, even those who they do not yet know.

For this, I pray God will bless them, always.  And, my pastor too, of course!

A hymn that I came across yesterday, was one that I haven't sung in a very long time.  Even so, I thought I would post it here on LwL, so you can enjoy it.  And, possibly use it for your own praise and worship time.

It was written by Bob Kauflin, and is entitled, O Great God.  Here is a link for you to listen and/or sing along:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOPbanJKWE8.  The lyrics are below.

O Great God

O great God of highest heaven,
Occupy my lowly heart,
Own it all and reign supreme,
Conquer every rebel pow'r.
Let no vice or sin remain
That resists Your holy war.
You have loved and purchased me,
Make me Yours forevermore.

I was blinded by my sin,
Had no ears to hear Your voice,
Did not know Your love within,
Had no taste for Heaven's joys.
Then Your Spirit gave me life,
Opened up Your Word to me,
Through the gospel of Your Son
Gave me endless hope and peace.

Help me now to live a life
That's dependent on Your grace.
Keep my heart and guard my soul
From the evils that I face.
You are worthy to be praised
With my every thought and deed.
O great God of highest heaven,
Glorify Your name through me.

You are worthy to be praised
With my every thought and deed.
O great God of highest heaven,
Glorify Your name through me.

This hymn clearly describes how my life has been.  And, probably yours, too.

Like all who are unsaved, I had no ears to hear, nor had His love within.  At least, until I was given life.

Now, I praise Him for He needs to be praised for providing for me.  And, for saving me.

This brought to mind, Galatians 2:20, "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."

Yes, I have been crucified with Christ.  It is He that lives within me.

The life I now live, I live by the faith of Jesus, who loved me, and gave Himself for me.  And, for you... if you trust in/believe upon Him.

I pray this is the case concerning your life.  Otherwise, I'll never get to meet you in heaven.

Hopefully, I will see you there, my friend.

Until next time...
