In yesterday's Life with Lynnie (LwL) entry, I discussed the fact that for close to a month, I had very limited television (TV) reception. This meant that I was really limited to what I could watch on TV.
This meant that I wasn't able to watch some of my favourite TV shows! :(
However, last week was a rather wonderful week.
The workers finished re-surfacing my balcony. I praised God for this!
Not just because the work was finished. Hallelujah! No more grinding, etc.
This meant that I was able to finally go out onto my balcony. And, this also meant that the two (2) men who take care of all issues concerning our antenna, were able to go onto my balcony.
They checked out the wiring into my unit. I was told it was very old. And, they could see that the wiring had been taped in several places.
Instead of repairing the wire, they replaced it!
Again, I can only say... praise God! Hallelujah!
Not only did it restore my TV reception, but after re-scanning, I ended up with about 38, or more channels!
Thank You, Lord! Not just for the reception and quality improvement, but also because this meant that I shouldn't have any problems in the near future.
Well, at least I thought not.
About a half hour after they left my apartment, I had my TV on while I was working on the computer. All of a sudden, I lost the reception.
I waited a while, before calling the fellow in charge, who had worked with the other fella to rewire my antenna system into my unit. I thought that possibly, it the reception might return. It didn't.
They agreed to come, once again.
While checking out my TV, they let me know there was a loose connection. Sort of like what I had happen with the TV I returned to the manufacturer a few months ago. They corrected it.
Still, I had no reception.
It seemed they couldn't understand what was happening. Then, something happened that was rather shocking.
All of a sudden, my TV showed a station on it!
Then, we realized that it wasn't through the antenna system. It was through the cable system, within my building. :(
Those men were shocked. I wasn't. This happened to me, once before.
Some people might have been happy with this, but I wasn't.
After all, I enjoy some stations, like Movies! TV Network, and the Create station, that are not viewed on cable.
The male leader quickly realized that the cable installer must have been working in our building, so he sent the other fella up to the area where all the connections are located.
Once upstairs, they talked by phone and the leader explained that the cable person had disconnected my unit antenna connection, and had errantly connected up to cable. So, he gave him step-by-step information about what to do to correct this.
Again, I can only say... thank You, Lord!
Within a few minutes, my TV reception was restored! And, I was able to begin watching some of the programming I truly enjoy!
Please know that while I was happy, I prayed to God. And, thanked Him, for the grace He gave to me, concerning this rather small experience.
It seems that He always shows me grace.
This reminded me of James 4:6, "But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble."
Amen! He gives grace to me. Always.
Thinking about this, brings tears to my eyes. And, lets me know that although some people do not agree, I am humble in His eyes.
For this, I will always be grateful for the grace He gives me. Nothing will ever be more important to me, since I already have gained salvation, by trusting in/believing upon His Son, Jesus Christ.
I'm truly thankful that He shows/gives me love. Even in these very small ways.
Until next time...
