Death & Life...

Just as I said I would do, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I made my way to worship with my church family, yesterday.

To my surprise, we had a guest that I recognized.

I won't say who it was.  But, I will say that it was someone who is a member of the church where I used to worship.

This was shocking to me, to see this person.

Hopefully, this Christian family member came to see if they felt comfy worshipping with us.  I prayed that if this was the case, that I would see them, again.  And, maybe on a regular basis.  Only time will tell.

Thinking about the church where I used to worship, I would like to say that I spent time on Friday, with some of my Christian family members who worship, there.

The reason I spent time with them there, wasn't to have wonderful fellowship time, together.  Although I must say, we did.

The reason I was there, was to attend the funeral of a sister-in-the-Lord.  She was almost 93 years old, and had been a wonderful person to know.

In addition to her being a loving and caring Christian, she had also been a medical doctor, for many years.  I must say that even though her life here on earth ended, I am grateful she is now with God, in heaven.

How grateful I am that she trusted in our Lord, Jesus Christ... for her salvation.  How grateful I am that God's Word, the Bible tells us that we can be saved by doing so.

Just as we read, in John 3:17-18, "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

Yes, He didn't come into the world in the form of man, to condemn the world.  He came to save people.

Some people think that because Jesus came to save the world, as verse 17 tells us, everyone in the world will be saved.  But, this is not the truth.

Anyone who believes this, should read the next verse, verse 18.

In it, we are told that whoever believeth on Jesus, is NOT condemned.  Hallelujah!

Reading further, God tells us that he that does not believe upon Jesus, is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Hopefully, you understand what these verses are telling us.

God is saying that when we are born into life here on earth, we are born un-saved.  With no relationship to our Saviour, Jesus Christ.

In other words, we are born dead.  Meaning, dead to eternal life.

The only way we can become alive to eternal life, is to believe upon His only begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.

I trust in/believe upon Jesus.  Hopefully, you do also.  Otherwise, we will not meet up one day, in Heaven.

Until next time...
