Were Ye Called?

In yesterday's Life with Lynnie (LwL) entry, I discussed about it being my deceased husband Gordon's birthday.

I must admit, it is not easy dealing with loss.  Especially loss of love, and loss of a person who you love.

Even if God brought another person into my life to love, I would never stop loving Gordon.  For, just as I mentioned yesterday, love never dies.

Not my love for others.  And, of even more importance... not God's love.

Please know that I still love my parents, who are both gone from this earth.  And, I still love my younger brother, who is no longer here, either.

It's true that when I love someone, I truly love them.

Like Jesus.  I truly love Jesus, with all my heart.

No one has ever loved me more than He does.  And, the same thing applies to you, if you belong to Him.

After all, He gave up His life for all who will believe upon Him.  He bore our sins, and paid the price for them, on the cross.

Thinking of this, reminded me of 1 Peter 2: 21-25, "For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls."

Jesus was perfect.  He was 100% God, and 100% man.  He was not a sinner.

Unlike us.  We are sinners.  Sinners born into inherited sin, from Adam and Eve, at the very least.

Jesus paid the price for our sin, and has provided eternal life and healing for us.  Just as we read in the Bible verses quoted, today.

We were born dead.  But, were made alive, once we came to Christ, receiving salvation.

Due to our saving relationship with Jesus, we are made righteous.  Not by our own righteousness, which is as filthy rags, but by His.

By His stripes, we are healed.

Just as we read, we were as sheep going astray.  But, when we trusted in/believed upon our Lord, Jesus Christ, we were returned to Him and our souls were saved, for eternity.

My prayer for you is to come to Christ, if you haven't already done so, my friend.

I realize there are people who are intelligent.  People who have read God's Word.  And, even some may accept it.

However, without the necessary personal relationship with Jesus, salvation is non-existent.

Friend, if you haven't yet come to Christ, then do so, today.  Tomorrow may be too late.

Until next time...
