Concerning...

As I mentioned yesterday, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I went to worship with my church family!

However, something was very different for me.

On Saturday night, I climbed into bed, exhausted.  Was I able to sleep?  No!

It was about 6:00 a.m. Sunday morning, when I finally drifted off to catch some zzzs.  My alarm went off about 7:50 a.m.

I'm sure you can guess that I felt rather tired, when I got up and got ready to go worship!  I was tired.  And, am still tired!

Even so, I headed off to go meet up with my brothers and sisters in the Lord.  With me, I brought some flowers and hair pins (bobby pins), to use to secure the flowers into ladies' and little girls' hair.

You see, this week is Daily Vacation Bible School (DVBS).

Since the DVBS theme is the Son's Treasure Island, I had been asked to provide those flowers.  This way, females could wear them, just the way it is done on many islands.

Our Bible study time was a real blessing.  Just as it normally is.

Our worship service was wonderful.  Just as it normally is.  After all, we worship in spirit and in truth.

Afterwards, I had a pleasant surprise.  We had a pasta lunch, together.  I must say it was delicious!

Had I been aware of this happening, I would have contributed to it.  But, Thank you, L for all the work you did!

Later, I had a few errands to run and shopping to do, so off I went.  It was then that I realized I had forgotten to bring cookies to church for the DVBS.

After all, children adore cookies, and need treats.  And, in the past, I always contributed by providing cookies.

Instead of driving home, I just drove to a store, and purchased several packages of cookies that I thought the children would enjoy.  On my way back to my church building, I prayed that someone would still be there.

God answered my prayer in a positive way!  Pastor Tom was still there!  Hallelujah!

It made me feel good to know that I was able to drop off the sweet treats, without leaving them anywhere outside, where they could be taken or destroyed.  Thank You, Lord!

It was obviously God's will for me to be able to do this.  Otherwise, it wouldn't have happened this way.

This reminded me of 1 Thessalonians 5:18, "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."

Yes, we need to be thankful in every situation.  For it is God's will that happens.  Not ours.

It made me truly happy that God's will was to help me do what I felt I needed to do.  For this, I praise Him!

After having a short visit with my grandson T, and doing more errands, I finally arrived home.

It was a hot day.  And, I felt like I should go down to the pool, for a while.  So I did.

There, I did a bit of minor exercise, cooled off, and relaxed.  And, spoke with a couple of friends.

I must admit, I felt blessed.  For this, I am truly thankful.

Until next time...
