In yesterday's Life with Lynnie (LwL) entry, I mentioned a bit about what I had been doing, lately. Today, I'll do the same.
On Wednesday, a lady who has become a good friend telephoned me.
She used to work here in my apartment building as a security guard. Now, she's working at a different location, so I don't get to see her, anymore.
At least, not until this past Wednesday. That's when she called and we made arrangements to meet at a local Tim Horton's (coffee shop), close to where I live.
When I drove there, I found out there was construction going on at that Tim Horton's location. :(
I had to drive around the block, because there didn't appear to be a way to access that property. When I made another effort to look for a place to park, the only place available was behind a bar, located next door. :(
When L arrived, we decided to go to another Tim Horton's location, since there was only a take-out trailer selling their products and there was nowhere to sit and visit. So, off we went.
As I've mentioned in the past, I enjoy the Timmy's location next door to the Red Lobster restaurant. So, that's were we went.
We had a nice visit. And, lunch together. :)
L let me know that she'll be heading out of town on a business trip. Knowing that she'll be flying to another city, I'm sure she will enjoy her time, there.
She will have to attend meetings, and conferences, etc., but she will also have time for sightseeing. And, I'm sure she'll have fun, too.
Even though L is a nice woman, there is something else I like about her. She's Christian.
She loves our Lord. And, shows love to others.
Just as we are told to do, in 1 Peter 2:17, "Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king."
L seemed to not only love and honour our Lord, but she also showed love to others. All people. Not just me.
I must admit, I miss her working at my building.
Even though she was working, whenever she saw me entering the building from our parking garage, she would assist me. L knew that I needed help opening the door that has always been extremely heavy and hard to open.
She also gave me flowers on a couple of occasions. I must admit, she has been a true blessing to me.
I'm grateful that we will be keeping in touch with each other, in friendship.
Yes, other people have been nice, and polite. However, out of all the people who have shifts working in security, she is the only one who reached out in Christian love to me.
Just as God wants us to do.
Do you reach out to others in Christian love? If you do, God will bless you for this, my friend.
Until next time...
