Caesar?!

I must admit, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), that yesterday I was exhausted.

For about a week and a half now, I've tried to go out, daily.  Not for long.

At least I'm getting out of my apartment.  Unlike I had for several months, this year.  And, indeed like much of almost 2 years.

Staying in can't always be fun.  Just as I've written in the past.

Especially, when a person's heart's desire is to be able to do things.

As you probably have guessed, instead of going out yesterday, I stayed in.  And, even had a short afternoon nap!

There was something I needed to do.  Bookkeeping.

As I've discussed in the past, even though I am not able to work at my job selling real estate, I still have bookkeeping to do.  Partly due to having expenses that must be paid, whether I'm working or not.

But, mainly due to the fact that I must submit my Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) information to our Canadian Government, quarterly.  Meaning, every three (3) months.

It matters not, if I'm owing money to the government, or if I will be receiving a refund.  The work must be done.

Being so very worn out, I almost thought of putting it off, and not doing the work I needed to do.

Instead, I trusted God, and forced myself to sort out all the information I needed.  For real estate, and with regards to book sales, etc.

And, God sure blessed me!

I was able to get the work done, in less time than I thought it would take.  Including going on-line and filing to the government, the information they needed.

Hallelujah!

Thinking about my responsibility in doing the bookkeeping, and filing the report to the government, made me think of something Jesus said.

It was in Luke 20:25, "And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's, and unto God the things which be God's."

Please understand, it doesn't make me unhappy having to do the work I needed to do.  It's just that I was so very tired, and/or worn out.

Even so, knowing that when Jesus was referring to Caesar, we can see the value of what we need to do for our government, even if it is not today known as Caesar.

This is why I was grateful that I was able to do what I needed to do.  For my governmental requirements.

Just as I prefer to do, regarding God.

While I may not have done this all my life, I now put God first in my life.  Just as He commanded us to do, in His Word, the Bible.

It breaks my heart that not everyone reads the Bible.  The unfortunate thing is, that anyone who doesn't read God's Word, doesn't have full knowledge of what He expects of us.

So friend, if ever I could recommend something you could do to honour God, it would be to read His Word, the Bible.  May you be blessed for doing so!

Until next time...
