As I discussed yesterday, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), Thursday, July 24th was a special day.
Now, with today being Saturday, July 26th, today will be another special day. A day that is special to me, and other family members.
Today is the day when my relative, Audrey is being buried.
Things are done differently in Northern Ireland than what is normally done, here. Instead of having a funeral home as a place to visit family of the person who died, and have a last look at the body of the person whose life has ended, most people have the deceased person laid out in their casket, at home.
To the best of my knowledge, this is what has been at my relative's home.
Audrey will be taken to her church for a funeral service. However, before that happens, a private service will be held at home, for her family.
In my heart, I wish I could be there. And, it breaks my heart that I wasn't able to see her, before her life ended.
One thing is for sure. God's will is always done.
Now, to focus on something more positive, I must tell you about my brother, B.
Where he lives, is quite a distance from here. It usually takes between three and a half to four (3 1/2 to 4) hours, to drive from where I live to his home.
If I were feeling better physically, and if he was feeling better physically, I would probably travel to visit him. For today is a special day for him, too.
It's my brother B's birthday!
Happy Birthday, B! May God bless you on this, your special day. And, always!
Believe me when I say that I'm happy that my brother is still alive, and that he is able to celebrate this special day.
It would have done my heart good to have been able to spend the day with him. But, this wasn't meant to be. It obviously wasn't God's plan.
Nevertheless, today is another day. In my in my brother's life. In my relative's family's life. And, in my life.
So, no matter what is happening, we must be thankful and happy. Even if things in life are sad.
Just as we read, in Psalm 118:24, "This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it."
As I've said in the past, life isn't easy. And, it isn't always kind.
But, each day God gives us to be here on earth, is special.
For as He told us in His Word, the Bible, today is a day that our Lord has provided for us. We shall rejoice and be glad in it. And, by doing so, we can show Him another form of our obedience.
May you be blessed today, my friend.
Until next time...
