Recently, I wrote about injured workers, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL). Today, I will do so, again.
On Wednesday, June 18th, a friend picked me up at home, and drove me and another fellow who couldn't drive, to the Injured Workers Coalition (IWC) meeting.
In addition to our other topics of discussion, we talked about how there had been a couple of horrible things happen, here in Windsor.
The Windsor Star posted an article about the construction worker who was killed on the job. Read about it, here: http://blogs.windsorstar.com/2014/06/18/parkway-worker-believed-to-have-been-crushed-during-concrete-pour/.
Blackburn News posted an article that contained information about both the worker who was killed and the worker who was injured. Read about it, here: http://blackburnnews.com/chatham/chatham-news/2014/06/18/labour-ministry-issues-six-orders/.
I feel terrible for the family of the worker who was killed.
I also feel terrible for the worker who was injured. And, for his family, also.
Why? Because, I can honestly say that I have never, ever met a worker who was severely injured, whose life wasn't changed.
I doubt very much if the surviving injured worker's life will ever return to the same as it was, prior to him being injured.
Recently, I discussed about how I had watched the funeral service for the three (3) Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) officers, who had been killed. And, I also discussed about the two (2) RCMP officers, who were injured.
It did my heart good to see how all over our country... Canada, people were grieving, and celebrating the lives of those people.
However, other than an article, or two (2), or three (3) being printed, or posted on the internet, people don't stand up and do the same for normal people injured on the job, the way they did for those RCMP officers.
This boggles my mind. It makes me think that we ordinary people are meaningless to others, even if we are injured on the job.
Of course, there are those who try to make injured workers non-important people.
I'm not just referring to people who think this way. I'm also referring to the Workplace Safety Insurance Board (WSIB).
While Workers Compensation Board (WCB) was originally set up to help injured workers, today things are different.
Not just because the name of the organization has been changed to reflect a non-helping situation. Also, because WSIB has changed their programme over the years, again and again.
It seem to me that they are making more and more efforts to not help injured workers.
In addition, it seems to me that there are some who work for WSIB, who are paid to limit whatever the injured worker will receive, even if they truly need the help. And, by the injured worker not getting the help they need, they do not always become healed. Not physically. And, sometimes, not emotionally, either.
Of course, some WSIB people are not only paid to do this, but some actually receive bonuses, for doing this.
Don't believe me?
Watch this YouTube video entitled, The Terminator: Suck It Up, Get Back To Work!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLKETawdnMo.
If you watched it, you'll understand that I am speaking truth.
Just as God told us to do, in Zechariah 8:16-17, "These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates:
17 And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the Lord."
God wants us to be honest, when we speak to others. He also wants us to speak truth in all aspects of our lives.
After all, He told us to not have evil in our hearts against anyone, and to love falsely... for those are things He hates! Just as He told us, in today's Bible verses.
Please understand, I am not saying that every single WSIB worker is trying to hurt injured workers in any way. However, most of their positions, are inclined to limit what help the injured worker can/will receive.
Believe me when I say that I wonder how any of the people who work against injured workers, while claiming they are working to help them, can sleep at night.
I pray for each and every one of them. I pray for each of them to gain salvation by trusting in our Lord, Jesus Christ.
For by obtaining a saving relationship with Jesus, they will be saved from spending eternity separated from God... without any chance of escape.
But also, knowing that a truly saved person will want to become closer to God, they will read God's Word, the Bible. And, they'll repent from any ill doings in their lives. Hopefully, this will include hurting those hurt on the job.
Please, join me in prayer.
Not just for those injured on the job, and their families. Not just for those killed on the job, and their families. But, also for those, who are misrepresenting themselves, and being dishonest in their daily work.
Until next time...
