Looking Back...

Before I begin today's entry here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I would like to wish my grandson, S... a very Happy Birthday! I'm looking forward to celebrating with you, later today!

From the title of today's LwL entry, I'm sure you can tell that this entry will be one of reflection.  Looking back on this year of 2013.

For me, it hasn't been a great year.  In fact, I must say that this has been probably the third (3rd) worst year of my life.

Between suffering from pain, swelling, infection and other issues that affected my body, due to the MRSA (staph infection in my wound area of my gut) and the ABSCESS, it hasn't been easy.

Especially, since treatment was severe.  And, time spent in hospital wasn't pleasant.

Then, there were family troubles and other issues that have directly affected my life.  None of which I would want to discuss at this time.

Even so, I am grateful for every breath I have taken.  Even if I have been battling a lung infection, that seems to be improving.

Seriously, I thank God.  Even for this horrible year!

I truly believe we are living in an evil world.  One filled with unloving people, who care not about anyone but themselves.

It's not just me who believes this.  God told us in His Word, that this would happen.

Read it for yourself, in Ephesians 5:15-20, "See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;"

Yes, we must make sure we do what we can, when we can, and however we can, to redeem the time.  We need to make the most of whatever our situation allows.

It's not easy, to be sure.  But, God is there for us, always.

Our Lord told us He would never leave us, nor forsake us... that He'd be with us always, even 'til the end of the age.  Hallelujah for this!

Whenever I find myself feeling low in spirit, I take a deep breath... and pray, to Jesus.

As you know, I am a music lover.  And, God seems to fill my heart and mind with music, and songs, whether I am asleep or awake.

Of course, relying on God's Word, is uplifting to me, also.

Between prayer, music and Bible reading and/or reflection upon His Word , I am uplifted.  For this, I am truly thankful!

How anyone can get through this life without God, is absolutely mind-boggling to me.  I know for certain that I could not do it.

I need Jesus.  And, I'm grateful He loves me.

Do you know that Jesus loves you?

He does.  He loves you so much, that He gave His life for the world, for all who will believe upon Him.  Including you.

If you do not believe you need salvation, or need a Saviour, then I would suggest you read the Book of John (in the New Testament of the Bible), Chapters 3 & 14.

If you are not yet born-again, I pray God's Word will remove the blinders from your eyes, and allow you to see and hear what you need.

As 2013 comes to an end, please know I am praying for you.

May God bless you, throughout 2014.

Until next time...
