Being SONday, our Lord's day, I'm sure you're not surprised that I'll be going to worship.
For some time now, I've been discussing worshipping in spirit, in truth, and through music. Normally, I use hymns/songs that I love and am sure you'll recognize and enjoy.
Today, is different. I want you to know that just the other day, I came across a song that I had never heard of, before. And, enjoyed it!
Since I've been discussing the issue of rememberance, knowing that Remembrance Day is coming up on Monday, I thought this song was truly relevant. When you see the lyrics, I'm sure you'll understand why.
The song I'm referring to is by True Vine Music and is entitled, I Will Remember: http://www.truevinemusic.com/i_will_remember.htm If you click on that link, you'll see a link to listen to the music, on that page. I pray that you will enjoy the song, and especially the lyrics.
I Will Remember
I will remember what You have done
I will remember Father, Spirit, Son
I will remember You are my God
And You have called me as Your own
I will remember Your love for me
I will remember Calvary
I will remember the Way, the Truth, the Life,
And all Your promises to me
I will remember
I will remember
I will remember that You are creator
I will remember that You made me
And all of Your blessings, all of Your gifts to me.
I will remember that You save Your people
They walk through the sea upon dry land
Walls turn to rubble, and giants, they crumble
You alone are God, the Great I am!
I will remember that You came to save me
You died on the cross for all of my sins
You rose from the grave and give life that will never end
When I am tempted, when I am weary
When I don't know which way to go
I will remember that You're always with me
And every truth You've taught my heart to know
Help me, Jesus, always to remember
Help me, Jesus, always to believe
That even should I forget, Your love is with me yet
For You promise You'll remember me!
We will remember those who fought for the freedom we enjoy, today. Soldiers, to be sure. But also, our Lord, Jesus Christ through whom we have obtained a freedom that can only come through Him.
Freedom to live our lives for Him. Honouring God!
While this verse refers to the Passover, I thought it seemed relevant to our issue of remembrance. I'm referring to Exodus 12:14, "And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the Lord throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever."
Just as the feast of Passover has been celebrated for generations, our heartfelt desire for remembrance of those who have provided freedom for us, is something that I pray will never be forgotten.
Our lives here on earth will at some point in time, end. However, those who belong to God, will live on, and spend eternity in heaven, with Him. For this, I praise God!
There's no way I could ever not remember Him, with thankfulness and love. Never. Ever.
Until next time...
