Desires...

In recent Life with Lynnie (LwL) entries, I've discussed the fact that I'm tired.  Most, if not all of the time.

As I mentioned previously, I slept in on Saturday.

Then, I slept well Saturday night, even if I didn't sleep as long as I thought I would.  Even so, I enjoyed that extra hour of sleep that I received, due to us turning our clocks back after midnight.

Sunday afternoon and early in the evening, I could not stay awake.

I dozed off in my recliner chair and fought to wake up.  Eventually, I woke up long enough to set my cell phone alarm.  After all, I didn't want to miss out on watching The Amazing Race!

Later in the evening, I once again felt exhausted.  Even so, I climbed into bed and once there, found myself wide awake.

In fact, the last time I looked at the clock, it was 5:45 a.m.  And, my alarm was set for 6:15 a.m.  Hmmm... this meant that the most sleep I got was one half (1/2) hour.

Even though I didn't want to get up when my alarm rang, I did.

I had a fair amount to do, before heading out to my 8:00 a.m. eye specialist's appointment.  Early appointment times like that, aren't always easy.  However, there's very little waiting time!

My check up went well.  I praise God for this!  Thank You, Lord!

You see, I have a check up twice annually.  It's due to the fact that years ago, I almost lost my eye.

The Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS is a rare form of Rheumatoid Arthritis) I have has side effects.  One is inflammation in the eye:  Iritis.  When inflammation is too high, it can bring on Glaucoma.  Hence, the need for checkups.

Afterwards, I stopped at a friend's home and enjoyed a cup of tea with her!

I had planned to stop at the library on my way home.  This didn't happen.

I was so-o tired, I just headed home.  And, slept for two (2) hours!

Once awake again, I headed over to the library.  And later, made my way to the Legion on Howard Ave., just south of Hwy. #3.

Yes, I enjoyed time with friends, listening to music, and watching others dance.  All this, in addition to enjoying a fabulous dinner!

It amazes me how God provides for me.

Even though I didn't have much sleep, I was still able to function.  It had to have been His will for this, otherwise none of this would have happened.

Just as He told us to do in Psalm 37:4, "Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart."

I am grateful that my focus in life is my Lord, Jesus Christ.  I delight in Him.  Even if my life is not going the way I had thought or hoped it would!

He seems to do things for me that I hope will happen.

I need to qualify this.  He doesn't do everything I ask for.  But, He does many, many things.  For this, I will be eternally grateful!

The fact is, He knows the desires of our heart.  Even if we don't necessarily tell him!

And, it is the condition of our heart that matters to Him, most.

He knows the condition of my heart.  And, yours.

Do you belong to Him?  If so, you'll spend eternity with Him, in heaven.

If not, you will spend eternity separated from God.  And, spend it in the Lake of Fire/Hell, with no chance of escape.

God knows the end from the beginning.  He knows whether or not you will be saved.

Do you?  Are you?  If not yet, you may want to come to Christ, before it's too late.

Until next time...
