As I discussed yesterday on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I love to worship God. And, worship God, I did!
If you've been reading LwL for any length of time, you'll know that for a while, after I was able to once again drive, I've been going to worship each Lord's day.
Unfortunately, it hasn't been where I worshipped for many years. I will not discuss why I no longer worship there. I will say that, in my opinion, if anyone were in my shoes, they wouldn't have continued to worship there, either.
For a while I went to worship with various church groups. The Lord led me to Walkerville Evangelical Baptist Church (WEBC).
Off and on, I worshipped there, in between other worship groups. In the beginning, their new pastor had been busy, and not there when I went to worship. This happened a few times.
Unlike what someone I know posted on Facebook (FB), I am not one of those people who want to go worship to be over-fed. Just as the person claimed some people do when they search out a new place to worship.
I will say, that in looking around and searching out a new place of worship, I refuse to worship where false teaching and/or preaching takes place. There is no way I want to sit and hear lies resonating and leading people astray.
How grateful I was to God that it turned out I not only felt comfortable worshipping at WEBC, but that they welcomed me! Thank You, Lord.
So, being SONday, I went to worship at WEBC again, yesterday. But, I didn't go alone.
A friend, who had joined me there a few weeks ago, joined me once again.
When I saw this friend recently, I was told how they felt truly blessed worshipping there, before. This friend is not familiar with worshipping at a Baptist church, as they were raised in a different denomination.
Once again, this friend was prayed for. Along with other people who needed prayer, including me.
Of course, being the first (1st) Sunday of the month, we worshipped and celebrated communion.
Ahhhh... if you've read LwL for a while, you'll know that I truly enjoy celebrating communion! So, I felt truly blessed.
Why? Because it is honouring to my Lord, to remember Him in the manner He asked us to.
He told us so, in 1 Corinthians 11:24-25, "And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me."
How wonderful it is to not just worship my Lord, but also to remember Him in the manner He told us to do!
This was actually the first time I had participated in communion, with this group of believers. And, the same for my friend.
We both agreed that it was a wonderful place to worship. I'm praying that my friend will make a habit of worshipping there, weekly.
For this, I will pray. And, give thanks to God, for bringing me, and my friend, to a place where I know truth is being preached and taught. Thank You, Lord!
What a blessing!
Until next time...
