And Can It Be?

Here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I've focused on praise and worship music, here on Sundays.

And, today... is SONday!  My Lord's day!

The day when I go worship God!

As I've mentioned in the past, I enjoy worshipping.  And, enjoys doing so, through music.

A hymn that I enjoy was written by Charles Wesley & Thomas Campbell called, And Can It Be?:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssNTcOLDVaA

Here are the lyrics:

And Can It Be?

And can it be that I should gain
An interest in the Saviour's blood?
Died He for me, who caused His pain
For me, who Him to death pursued?

Amazing love!  How can it be
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?
Amazing love!  How can it be
That Thou, my God shouldst die for me?

He left His Father's throne above;
So free, so infinite His grace.
Emptied Himself of all but love,
And bled for Adam's helpless race.

Tis mercy all, immense and free,
For, O my God, it found out me.
Amazing love!  How can it be
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?

(not included on this youtube link:)
Long my imprisoned spirit lay
Fast bound in sin and nature's night;
Thine eye diffused a quickening ray,
I woke, the dungeon flamed with light.

My chains fell off; my heart was free.
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.
Amazing love!  How can it be
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?

No condemnation now I dread;
Jesus, and all in Him is mine!
Alive in Him, my living Head,
And clothed in righteousness divine;

Bold I approach the eternal throne
And claim the crown, through Christ, my own.
Amazing love!  How can it be
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?

Before I read and studied the Bible to know and understand God better, there were times in my life when I wondered why my Lord, Jesus Christ, would want to die for me.  Me... a sinner!

How can it be?  How could God love me, this much?

But, He did.  Just as we are told in Romans 5:8, "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

How grateful I am for the Bible.  In it, we find answers to questions.  Including the reason why Jesus Christ, died for all who will believe upon Him.

Sometimes, answers to questions we have may not be quite what we expect.  However, they are always exactly what God wants us to know.

Do you read God's Word... the Bible?

If not, I suggest you begin reading.  If you've never before read the Bible, I would suggest you begin reading in the New Testament, in the book of John.  Then, read to the end.

After all, faith cometh by hearing... and hearing, by the Word of God!

Until next time...
