With yesterday being Monday, that's exactly what I did!
After doing all I needed to do at home, I made my way to the legion. This time, I wanted to arrive earlier, so I could get a parking spot in the front of the building.
Praise God, I did! Thank You, Lord!
I must admit that I was shocked to see how many people had already arrived, considering the event had only begun a few minutes earlier. Even so, I arrived earlier than my friend L, and her boyfriend, D.
Today is L's birthday, so I want to wish her a very Happy Birthday! May God bless you, my friend!
Watching the group dance, was entertaining for me.
I sure would like to have been able to join in. Hopefully, I'll recover well from the next upcoming operation I'll be having, soon. And, be able to join in the fun.
In an effort to have some fun, I did something different, since I couldn't dance.
You need to know that every time I have been there, there have been a few people allowed to sing. So, I requested to be able to do that, yesterday.
Here is a link to a song that a fellow Canadian, Ian Tyson wrote and Judy Collins recorded entitled, Someday Soon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIgnHPqp0Dk. And, here are the lyrics:
Someday Soon - Ian Tyson
There's a young man that I know
His age is twenty-one
Comes from down
In southern Colorado
Just out of the service
And he's looking for his fun
Someday soon, going with him
Someday soon
My parents can not stand him
Cause he rides the rodeo
My father says that
He will leave me crying
I would follow him right down
The toughest road I know
Someday soon, going with him
Someday soon
And when he comes to call
My pa ain't got a good word to say
Guess it's cause he's just
As wild in the younger days
So blow, you old Blue Northern
Blow my love to me
He's driving in tonight
From California
He loves his damned old rodeo
As much as he loves me
Someday soon, going with him
Someday soon
But when he comes to call
My pa ain't got a word to say
Guess it's cause he's just
As wild in the younger days
Blow, you old Blue Northern
Blow my love to me
He's driving in tonight
From California
He loves his damned old rodeo
As much as he loves me
Someday soon, going with him
Someday soon
Someday soon, going with him
Someday soon
His age is twenty-one
Comes from down

And he's looking for his fun
Someday soon, going with him
Someday soon

The toughest road I know

Someday soon, going with him
Someday soon
When I was finished singing this song, something happened that surprised me.
While it's normal to have people applaud, it was shocking to hear some people hollering that I need to be in Nashville.
Even so, I continued on to sing another song. Sarah McLachlan's song Angel. Here's a link to her song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hx4RsCfL_fA
But, I didn't sing Sarah's full lyrics. Instead, I sang the lyrical version I created. A version of lyrics that God put on my heart after the deaths of my husband Gordon, and one of his friends.

I've written about it before, here on LwL. Here is a link to my entry of: The Silent Reverie: http://www.lifewithlynnie.com/2010/01/silent-reverie.html
If you check out my lyrical version, you'll see that I honour Jesus, when I sing it. Honouring Jesus, is something I try to do, whenever I have the opportunity to do so.
After all, He was obedient to God the Father, when He came to earth to die on the cross for my sin, for yours, and for the sin of all the world, of all who will believe. And, He was crowned with glory and honour.
Just as God told us, in Hebrews 2:9, "But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man."
Jesus suffered for all God's children, when He died on the cross. I am truly thankful for this.
And, for the fact that He was resurrected. Because He overcame the world, we know we can, also.
I praise God for this! And, I will always give Him glory and honour!
Until next time...
