The Power of the Cross!

As I've been writing lately on Life with Lynnie (LwL), today on our Lord's day, I will be going to worship.  Just like I normally do on SONday's.

Thinking about worshipping God, makes my heart skip a beat.

How I wish that everyone loved to do this.  After all, where would we be without Him?!

Some people don't realize that we are born, dead.

We have been born alive, physically.  Even so, our physical birth does not mean we have been spiritually born.

That doesn't happen until we come to Christ, and accept Him as God's Son, who came to die on a wooden cross for the sin of the world, for the sin of all who will believe.

Thinking about the power that Jesus had, and what He did on the cross at Calvary, made me think of a song I love.  It's called, The Power Of The Cross, sung by Kristyn Getty; written by Keith Getty & Stuart Townendhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aowdjLeaCYs  Here are the lyrics:

The Power Of The Cross

Oh, to see the dawn
Of the darkest day:
Christ on the road to Calvary.
Tried by sinful men,
Torn and beaten, then
Nailed to a cross of wood.

Chorus:
This, the power of the cross:
Christ became sin for us
Took the blame, bore the wrath—
We stand forgiven at the cross.

Oh, to see the pain
Written on Your face,
Bearing the awesome weight of sin.
Every bitter thought,
Every evil deed
Crowning Your bloodstained brow.

Now the daylight flees
Now the ground beneath
Quakes as its Maker bows His head.
Curtain torn in two,
Dead are raised to life;
"Finished!" the victory cry.

Oh, to see my name
Written in the wounds,
For through Your suffering I am free.
Death is crushed to death
Life is mine to live,
Won through Your selfless love.

This, the power of the cross:
Son of God—slain for us
What a love! What a cost!

We stand forgiven at the cross.

Yes!  We stand forgiven, at the cross!

Oh, how what Jesus did at the cross showed His power!

Although some people think Jesus was murdered, He was not!

We read the truth in John 10:14-18, "I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father."

How anyone can claim to know about Jesus, yet refuse to see and accept what He did, by dying on the cross for the sin of the whole world... for the sin, of all who will believe, is beyond me.

It's only by believing upon/trusting in Jesus Christ, that we become born-again.  And, become forgiven for all our sin.  After all, we are saved by grace (alone), through faith (alone), in Christ (alone).

How grateful I am that I am saved!

Are you saved?  Have you come to Christ, yet?

God gave us freewill.  And, through this, we can either accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, and be thankful, or we can die in our sin and spend eternity in Hell.

The choice is yours.

Until next time...
