My Heart's Desire...

As I've mentioned here on Life with Lynnie (LwL) in the past, God places music on my heart and mind.  Or, possibly it may be that my inner soul is worshipping Him, even during my sleep time.

Whatever the case, the end result is the same.  Music in my soul exits my body, either through thoughts, prayer, or aloud through singing.

Today, being Sonday, I will go to church.  And, will worship my Lord.  After all, it is our Lord's day!

Like normal, more than one piece of music invaded my thoughts this week.  But, the one I chose to focus on is entitled, As The Deer

Here is a link to the song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bJGFX5O6Ns.  And, here are the lyrics:

As The Deer

As the deer panteth for the water
So my soul longeth after thee
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship thee

You alone are my strength, my shield
To you alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship thee

You're my friend and you are my brother
Even though you are a king
I love you more than any other
So much more than anything

You alone are my strength, my shield
To you alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship thee

I want you more than gold or silver,
only you can satisfy.
You alone are the real joy giver
and the apple of my eye.

You alone are my strength, my shield
To you alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship thee

One reason I adore this song, is because it is a direct reflection of scripture.

While As The Deer was written by Martin J. Nystrom, the basis for the lyrics was Psalm 42:1, "As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God."

My soul panteth after thee, O God!

You are in my thoughts day and night.  While awake and asleep.

And, I long to worship thee.  Just as I will do, today when I make my way to meet with fellow believers.

How blessed I feel, being able to do this!  After all, for a while I couldn't drive, due to my ill health, and wasn't able to meet with brothers and sisters in the Lord, for worship.

I thank You, Lord.  For everything in my life.

The good.  The bad.  And the in between.

You are the focus of my life.  For this, I will be eternally grateful.

After all, I will spend eternity with You, in heaven.

You promised this to me, and to all who will believe upon the Lord, Jesus Christ.  You promised to save us and provide eternity, with You.

Praise God for this!

Until next time...
