If you read yesterday's Life with Lynnie (LwL) entry, you'll know that I wrote about how I plant seeds for Christ, anywhere and everywhere I go.
I must admit, that I am not the only person who does this. Anyone who truly loves our Lord, does the same.
Why do I do this? I do this, because God commanded us to preach the gospel to all the creatures of the earth. And, because it breaks my heart to think that someone I came in contact with might not become saved, if I don't do what God commanded His children to do.
Just thinking about how so many people do not yet know Jesus as Lord and Saviour, breaks my heart. Many years ago, during a Bible study class, Dr. Donald McKay, who was my pastor then, but who is pastor in USA now, made it clear to me that I shouldn't become overwhelmed with not seeing results from planting those seeds for Christ.
Yes, I need to do the work. But, he assured me through information in the Bible, that we would not always see the results of our work.
Even so, I sometimes find myself struggling with the idea that not everyone will be saved.
Like God Himself, I wish that none should perish, but have everlasting life. However, I also realize that not all will be saved and spend eternity in heaven with Him. Especially, since He told us that many will stand before Christ in the day of judgement, and He may tell some people to get away from Him... for He never knew them.
There is something I need to say that some may not like to hear.
I have a Facebook (FB) friend. Okay, I have many FB friends. But, one in particular has touched my heart.
This fellow made several mutual friends, before requesting friendship with me.
Just so you know, I do not accept everyone who requests friendship. However, if we have many mutual friends, or if I've gotten to know a person on a group page, then I sometimes accept friendship. Just as I did, with R.
R, claimed to love Jesus. And, we had many mutual friends. So, when he requested friendship, I accepted.
It didn't take long to realize that R was not a born-again Christian.
There are many people who claim to be Christian, who maybe are not saved. Only God knows for sure.
But, when R added me to a FB group called: Jesus, the human, he is great prophet, but he is not god... I was shocked! This is when the truth came out.
R wasn't Christian at all! He was Muslim. There's more to be said about this, but it will have to be on another occasion.
Still, I will say that when he claimed to love Jesus, it was truly a false love.
Since then, I've planted many seeds for Christ, with R. And, discussed Jesus with him, until I'm about blue in the face.
After all, God's Word, the Bible tells us in John 14:6, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
Yes, Jesus is THE way, THE truth and The life. No man cometh unto the Father, but by HIM.
There is no other way to heaven.
Like all who follow Islam, my FB friend R just doesn't understand. He refuses to accept what Jesus did for all of humankind.
This breaks my heart. I know that anyone who refuses to accept Jesus will not go to heaven.
Instead, they will spend eternity separated from God. And, be thrown into the Lake of Fire.
Sigh... Yes, I know I cannot change things. God's plan is His plan. And, He will save whom He will save.
But, this won't stop me planting seeds for Christ, for Him to water. Nor, will it stop me praying for the unsaved.
Until next time...
