If you've been reading Life with Lynnie (LwL) lately, you'll be aware that I had written that I have gone through a period of time, where not much went right for me.
Yes, I wrote about what happened with my van, and how I tried to go out of town, twice. But, wasn't able to do so.
Previously, I mentioned that I wouldn't write about all that happened. And, I won't.
But, I will say that none of what I experienced was pleasant.
In fact, some of what happened to me, I can actually say was evil. Not on my part, but on the part of the person/people involved.
It makes me sad thinking we live in such an evil world. Even so, it doesn't change the fact that it is true.
And, it's not just unbelievers who have evilness and sin in their lives. Unfortunately.
As I said, I won't go into detail. I don't really want to write about any more negative things. But, you would probably be shocked as to what had transpired.
Not just with one person or issue. In fact, there were several.
In the midst of the problems, I began to feel low in spirit, once again. After all, when we reflect upon evil, it does not lift us up.
Thoughts crept into my mind.
I began thinking about the troubles and trials that many brothers and sisters in the Lord experienced. In today's real life, and in ancient times of the Bible. I thought of several, but Joseph's trial of life came to mind.
What did lift me up in spirit was a Bible verse that pertained to his situation. Genesis 50:20, "But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive."
I praise God for that verse. I praise Him, for the Bible. And, I praise God that due to the past teaching and/or preaching I received, I learned to draw on God's Word!
We may not be in control of evil situations or experiences. We may not be able to change anything in our lives to affect them. But, I am thankful God is in control. Of all things.
Those of us who belong to Him, who read and draw on His Word, know that He will work all things together for good, for us! While the situation may not be good, the end result will be used for our good. For this, I praise God!
This, being our Lord's day, it is a wonderful time to honour Him!
By worshipping Him, to be sure. But also, by reading the Bible. By letting those promises He made to us, and those special verses that we can draw on, lift us up.
This is something I will always praise Him for!
Until next time...
