Happy Canada Day! Happy Dominion Day! & In Remembrance...

Here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I enjoy celebrating special days.  Like today.  Canada Day!
FYI, before today began being called Canada Day,
on July 1st, we celebrated Dominion Day!

Being Canada Day,
during celebrations we will sing our national anthem:

Oh, Canada!

(Here's a LINK to hear and/or sing Oh, Canada!)

Oh, Canada...
our home and native land.
True patriot love
in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise
the true north, strong and free
From far and wide, oh Canada
we stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land
glorious and free.
Oh, Canada
we stand on guard for thee.
Oh, Canada
we stand on guard for thee!

Here is a Christian song that is sung to the same melody as
Oh, Canada!

Lord of the Lands
(by Albert Durrant Watson & Calixa Lavallee)

Lord of the lands,
beneath Thy bending skies,
on field and flood,
where'er our banner flies,
Thy people lift their hearts to Thee,
their grateful voices raise:
May our Dominion ever be
a temple to Thy praise.
Thy will alone
let all enthrone;
Lord of the lands,
make Canada Thine own;
Lord of the lands,
make Canada Thine own!

Almighty Love,
by Thy mysterious power,
in wisdom guide
with faith and freedom dower;
be ours a nation evermore
that no oppression blights,
where justice rules
from shore to shore,
from lakes to northern lights.
May love alone
for wrong atone;
Lord of the lands,
make Canada Thine own;
Lord of the lands,
make Canada Thine own!

Lord of the worlds,
with strong eternal hand
hold us in honour,
truth and self-command;
the loyal heart,
the constant mind,
the courage to be true,
our wide extending Empire bind,
and all the earth renew.
Thy name be known
through ev'ry zone;
Lord of the worlds,
make all the lands Thine own;
Lord of the worlds,
make all the lands Thine own!
Amen...

Happy Birthday, Canada!

While I give honour to my country, Canada...
I give greater honour to my God, as in
Romans 13:1, "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God."

Today may be a day of celebration, but it is also a day of remembrance.   It was three (3) years ago today, that my brother Glenn died.  Remembering you with love, Glenn... xoxo

Until next time...
