Time...

Here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I sometimes write about special events.  Or, special times.  Today, is one of those days.

While I may be writing about the happening that will occur, I must say that it is not really scheduled for today.  It's actually scheduled for tomorrow morning.

You may have already recognized that I'm referring to our time change.

Time changes only happen here, twice per year.  Once in the spring and once in the fall.  In the spring we... spring forward.  In the fall, we... fall back.

The time zone I live in is Eastern Standard Time (EST). At 2:00 a.m., we will experience a time change... to Daylight Savings Time (DST).  This means that at 2:00 a.m., the time will in essence not be 2:00 a.m., but rather 3:00 a.m.  After all, by springing forward, we lose an hour of time.

Losing an hour of time, means we also lose an hour of sleep!  :(

Of course, if you're like me, being someone who quite often has trouble either getting to sleep, waking early, or waking in the middle of the night and not being able to return to sleep for an extended period of time, losing sleep is not unusual.

But, for today's society, losing time is considered by some, to be a loss.

Less time for partying.  Less time to sleep.  Less time to enjoy doing whatever it is, they would prefer to do to utilize that lost time.

By writing this, I am not pointing fingers at anyone.  We are all sinnersAll have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, His Word tells us in Romans 3:23.

Of course, even though we are all sinners, some of us are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ... alone.  Yes, trusting in Jesus for your salvation is a wise thing to do, for it guarantees you will spend eternity in heaven... and not in hell.

Speaking of being wise, Ephesians 5:15-16 tells us, "See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil."

Wow!  You may want to read those verses, again!

God told us to not waste the time, but rather to be wise and use it well.  Why?  Because, the days are evil!

Never a truer word was spoken.  Today, we are living in a truly evil world.

Today's world is not one that recognizes the only true and living God.  At least, not by all.

Instead, this world is filled with gods, not just of every sort and type of religion, but also as individuals, who make themselves gods.  But then, God told us in the Bible, that this is the way life would be in... the end times.

Of course, this is a topic for another time.  (Pun intended!)

Until next time...
