If you've known me by reading Life with Lynnie (LwL) for any length of time, or know me in real life, you'll know that I am a truly thankful person.
Today, has been a rather good day for me.
Most of my day has been spent rewriting and going over what I am going to say and sing, tomorrow. If you're in the area, and would like to join us, I'll be speaking for a church group at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, at Victoria & Park, here in Windsor, at 1:00 p.m. Feel free to check out Lynnie Ministries.
This morning, I was shocked when the mailman came to my door with a parcel.
At first, I thought it was a Christmas gift from Ireland. Or, possibly my vitamins arriving; but, I kind of wondered why they would be here earlier than scheduled.
To my surprise, it was a box from U.S.A. Texas, in fact.
As soon as I saw where it was from, I knew who sent it to me. My friend J and her husband A, have become real life friends, even though our friendship began through Facebook (FB).
When I saw where it was from, and what had been written on the box, my face took on a smile. This greater than just a grin, went from ear-to-ear!
On the box, was written the word Fragile. In addition, there was a message written. It said, "Please be kind to me. Sincerely, Box". :) Then, below my name and address something else was written, "Special Person". This had an arrow marked from this wording over to where it said, "be kind", with a change in direction pointing to my name.
My heart skipped a beat reading all that was so lovingly written.
Opening the box, I was shocked to find in it, two (2) gifts.
The first (1st) one was an ink and paper gift set. For sure, whenever I use this, I will be thinking of my Texan friends!
The second (2nd) one was in a gold-tone gift box. I opened it up and was shocked to see a collector's plate.
The glass plate is beautiful. In the centre there is Two (2) Turtle Doves, perched on a branch. The inscription on the outer portion reads, "On the second day of Christmas, my true love sent to me... Two Turtle Doves".
The outside edging is detailed with visuals of The Twelve Days of Christmas.
Vines and leaves are entwined pears, and with Drummers Drumming, Pipers Piping, Lords-a-Leaping, Ladies Dancing, Maids-a-Milking, Swans-a-Swimming, Geese-a-Laying, Golden Rings, Calling Birds, French Hens, Turtle Doves, and a Partridge-in-a-Pear-Tree. Just like the song.
I suppose this means I will just have to be looking for the other plates in this collection!
If you're reading this entry J and A, I thank you both from the bottom of my heart. You truly made my day!
Thank you, for wanting to send me something to cheer me up. It wasn't necessary, but it certainly did what it was intended to do!
Another thing I am truly thankful for, is prayer.
Thank you to all who have been praying for healing, for me. May God bless you, for doing this. Please know that I pray for you, also.
Psalm 70:4 came to mind, "Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified."
Yes, we need to praise God and magnify His name. He told us He is a jealous God, who wants us to put no other gods before Him.
And, I'm grateful that He made a way for us to honour him. Through prayer and thankfulness.
Until next time...
