Pain & Contentment?!

When I left off in yesterday's Life with Lynnie (LwL) entry, I was in pain.  Of course, if you haven't yet read recent entries, I would suggest you do so.  This way, you'll have a clear understanding of the situation I was faced with.

C had told me he was sorry that I was hurting.  lol  Well, it's enough to say I was sorry, also!  After all, I was in agony.

I could hardly turn my neck.  My shoulder hurt so bad, I didn't want to move it.  And, after many years of having only minor arm pain, due to my chiropractic care helping my body, I was once again in agony with pain running down my arm, into my hand.  Not to mention my back pain!  And, hernia pain!

All I could think of and pray was, Lord... help me, please!  I recall even promising Him, I wouldn't do anything like this, again!

Before I pulled away from C's apartment complex, I called my chiropractor.  His answering machine came on.  But, the message quoted his hours, so I thought his office was open, but busy.

Off I drove the few blocks, to his office.  It was closed.  Once again, I telephoned.  This time, I left a message for them to call me.

In pain, I made it home.  No exercise in the pool that day, for me!

Nope.  In fact, upon arriving home, I had to take something for pain, several times that evening, and again at bedtime.  This is something I rarely do, because I truly hate taking medication, even if it is needed for pain.

First thing the next morning, my phone rang.  It was my chiropractor's office, returning my call.  After I was told that he shortened his hours a couple of days per week, for summer hours, I arranged to go for treatment that afternoon.

Praise God!  Thank You, Jesus!

Not just for the appointment, but also for the treatment that Dr. G gave me!  What would I do without him?

As he treated me, we discussed the fact that the lifting I had done aggravated the condition I had suffered with, since being involved in that motor vehicle collision and subsequent back injury, so many years ago.

Yes, the treatment helped.  But, once again, no pool exercise for me!  Besides, I was still in so much pain, I wouldn't have wanted to do anything to aggravate my condition, in any way.

One thing I had to do though, was make my way to Chapters bookstore at Devonshire Mall, where I was scheduled to do a book-signing event, once again for my book, Love Never Fails You...

Thank you for helping me, Lord.  Without You, I know I just couldn't make it through life.  And, I am so grateful that you never leave me, nor forsake me!

Oh, I guess you can tell that I was reminded of another Bible verse.  Hebrews 13:5 tells us, "Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."

Yes, He is with us, always.  While it is hard to be content in this life, especially with dealing with chronic pain, I must say that I know I just couldn't make it through without Jesus, my Lord.  Thank You, for loving me, Lord.  And, for providing, always.

Until next time...
