A True Friend!!

Today, has been a bright and sunny day.  Glorious.  A rather perfect kind of day, especially for a holiday!

Yes, today is Labour Day (LD), here in Canada.

Since some other countries also celebrate LD, you may be aware of what I am referring to, even if your country doesn't call it by the same name as we do.  For those who may not understand what today's holiday is about, here is a LINK where you can read about how LD is celebrated in various countries.

Here in Canada, LD used to mean that it was a true holiday.  Shops and restaurants used to be closed.  Of course, this was many years ago.

Today, this is not the case.

In fact, when I was out earlier, I was surprised to see many stores were open that I didn't think would be!  No, I didn't go shopping, but I did meet with a friend, for lunch.

My friend A and I met at East Side Mario's (ESM).

A joined me a few minutes after I secured our table.  It had been a while since we saw each other, so it was really nice to be able to meet with her.

In fact, once seated together, we began talking, and talking, and talking!

Our server was very patient with us.  This was something I was grateful for, for sure!

Eventually, we looked over the menu and made our decision.  Our orders placed, we continued talking.  We hardly stopped talking, even when our food arrived!

That's what A and I do, when we meet up, after too long a time.

Of course, A reminded me that she reads Life with Lynnie, daily, so she knows a fair amount of what I've been up to.  But, it's not a comprehensive journal of my life, so she doesn't know everything!

And, of course, she has to tell me about what she's been up to, since we last met!

Our lunch was delicious, as always.  One thing I must say, is that the food and the service is usually good at ESM!

I need to say that even though we ate as we talked, we talked much longer than our food lasted! lol  In fact, our server came over a couple of times, after we were finished eating, to see if he could do anything more for us.

Truth be told, we probably could have kept yakking for much longer, but after about two and a half (2 1/2) hours, we looked at each other, and decided we should probably head out!  :)

How blessed I am to have such a loving friend, as A!

Whenever I am with her, I feel totally relaxed.  Maybe it's because even though we do not worship at the same church, we both read our Bibles, are both saved, and both share similar thoughts and ideas.

This reminded me of Proverbs 17:17, "A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity."

Yes, A has been a true friend to me.  In good times, and in not such good times, she has always been there with me, and for me.  For this, I am truly grateful.

Lord, thank you for blessing me with such a good and loving Christian friend; I pray that A feels as blessed as I do.  And, I pray you will bless her, and indeed all my friends.  In Jesus' name I pray.  Amen.  Amen!

Until next time...
