Prayer, Praise & Praisia!

Once again, here I am writing about my Lord's day, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL).

What can I say?  SONday is an important day for me!  It's the day when I am able to gather with my brothers and sisters in Christ, to worship God!

Today, I didn't worship at my church.  I went to a different church, once again.

Walkerville Evangelical Baptist Church (WEBC), doesn't have its own website, so I cannot direct you to find out more about this group.  Even so, I can tell you their address is 815 Windermere Rd., Windsor, ON  N8Y 3E3  519 256-1143.

I have quite a history with them!

A number of years ago, I knew the pastor of this group, fairly well.  So well, in fact, that as a realtor, I assisted them in obtaining some properties on Lincoln Rd. and Cataraqui St., here in Windsor.

Eventually, the properties were demolished.   Once the chuch group is ready to proceed, a sign will be erected and the now vacant land will be paved, and used for parking for the church.

As I mentioned in a previous LwL entry, I am helping Wendy Taylor promote her Women of Influence conference coming up in November.  On my list of churches to approach, was Walkerville Evangelical Baptist church!

When I arrived this morning, I was surprised that I found a parking spot on the street, right away.  After all, parking is at a premium in this area!  Truly, I shouldn't be surprised, because God seems to provide for me in this way, regularly.

Just as I entered the sanctuary, I ran into someone I hadn't seen in a while.

J was happy to see me, too.  This was his first time worshipping at this church.  He found WEBC while taking a walk around the neighbourhood where his brother lives, and decided he would worship there, today.

He sat with me and I gave him some historical background on WEBC, and chatted with him about how he had been since I last saw him.  Yes, it was nice meeting up with J!

Like many church groups at this time of year, many people were absent, being away on vacation, etc.  Even so, we were both warmly welcomed by those in attendance.

It didn't take long to realize that they are without a pastor at this time.  So, a guest preacher participated in the worship service, today.  It was a wonderful message!

At the end of the service, I was given permission to give an announcement, regarding the Women of Influence conference, and gave an information sheet to a women who told me she would promote it within her church group.

One other thing I spoke about to some people was about a Philippino musical group, Praisia.  Here is a LINK to read more about Praisia.  And, here is a Youtube video about THEM!

Recently, a Facebook (FB) friend of mine told me that she was part of this musical group, that travels the world, supporting  and encouraging Philippino diaspora, as well as other Christian churches.  My FB friend told me she wouldn't be travelling to Canada, but some of her team was, and would be in Toronto around the end of October.

Well, knowing this church group had a great number of worshippers from the Philippines, I thought I would mention this to the pastor.  Especially, since my FB friend said she would like to bring Praisia to Windsor!

With no pastor, I was given the name of the person to contact, who was away on vacation.  While I smiled externally, I laughed internally, because I know the person well, from my past contact with this church family!

It never ceases to amaze me how God's timing is always perfect.

2 Corinthians 6:2 tells us, "For he says, "In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you." I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation."

Yes, His timing is perfect, for things such as I discussed, but even more so in the time of salvation.  I praise God that we, His children, have favour with Him, and that He hears us and provides for us, always.

I pray it is God's will to not just bring Praisia to Windsor, but to bring them during the time of WEBC's 100th anniversary, at the end of October, when they will be visiting in Ontario.

Please join me in prayer for this.  Thank you.  May God bless you!

Until next time...
