Anyone who's been a regular reader of Life with Lynnie (LwL) knows that other than getting my exercise doing my work showing homes, etc., I get the majority of my healthy exercise in the pool.
This week has been no different. Even though storms have raged through our area on various days, God blessed me with time to work out, doing my daily exercise.
Yesterday was somewhat different. My friend M, who has a pool at her home, joined me in late morning.
We have been a friends for many years. In fact, as a four-some, she and her husband got together with Gordon and I for pizza and salad, on a fairly regular basis.
M used to be a fellow realtor, until a few years ago, when she found other employment. After some health concerns, she decided that it was time to retire. So, now she has more free time on her hands!
Usually, we get together for tea or for a meal, but as I said, we decided to do something a little different. Instead, we got together for some fun in the water, followed by a BBQ.
Originally, I had hoped to have her, along with some other of my female friends join us, but on Friday. Until I realized that I had forgotten to mark in my daytimer plans for the day, that is. So, instead we met a day early.
Once in the pool, M asked me to show her some of the exercises I do in the pool. While I did not do my entire workout routine, I did show her each and every movement I do in the water. And, together we did a few, so she would have a chance to get the hang of it.
It was a fun time, for both of us. We laughed and carried on while doing our thing!
Afterwards, we made our way to the BBQ area, where I made sure I cooked enough steak for our luncheon and for an instant replay for Friday. Even when I made the various salads to accompany our barbequed beef, I made sure I had made enough for both days meals.
Oops, sorry. You'll have to wait until tomorrow to know why! :)
I must say that God was gracious to us.
When we began our time together, the weather was clear and it was a sunny day. However, once we got into the pool, rain clouds made their way into the area, providing a dark covering for a while.
Then, as we barbecued, drops of rain began to fall.
Aloud, we asked God to stop any rain, at that time. And silently, I prayed.
Of course, I knew that we could always take refuge indoors, if necessary. But, that wasn't what we had hoped to do!
As quickly as the drops began, they stopped.
During our meal, it began to happen once again. Even though we were seated on our raised picnic area that is covered with lattice work, we started to feel droplets on us.
What did we do? The same thing as before. We spoke aloud about it, and silently, I prayed.
Did God answer in a positive way? Yes, He did!
We managed to not only eat our meal together, but we sat there and chatted until late in the afternoon. Thank you M, for a wonderful time of fun and fellowship!
Wow! Was I happy that God's will was to allow us time together, to feel the beautiful breezes in the warmth of the day, and not be showered upon enough to interrupt our visit. Thank you, Lord!
In my mind, I was not only grateful for God's mercy upon us, but I was reminded of a Bible verse. John 9:31, "Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth."
Does this mean God is like a genie in a bottle, willing to grant my, or indeed anyone's requests? No, He is not!
However, I am not unsaved. I am a born-again believer, who is a worshipper of God. One, who does my best to do His will. And, in so many small ways, He shows me he hears my requests, and quite often His response is positive.
Friend, if you are not yet saved, please read the book of John, in the New Testament portion of the Bible.
I realize that there are many people out there, who claim to be Christian, yet do not consider themselves born-again. Read the book of John, and you will find out that being born-again is the only way to find your way to heaven one day. Hopefully, God will remove the blinders from your eyes, revealing truth to you.
Truth that everyone must believe upon the Lord, Jesus Christ, to be born-again/saved.
Until next time...
