Celebrations & Praise!

Even though I said in yesterday's Life with Lynnie (LwL) entry, that I would continue my story about going to Detroit, Michigan, USA, I must apologize, because I must interrupt myself.

As you know, I wished my grandson J Happy Birthday, on August 28th, the day of his birthday.

Due to something important that she couldn't reschedule, my daughter suggested we get together on Wednesday, instead.  So that's what we did.  We got together yesterday to celebrate J's birthday!

If you've been a long time reader of LwL, you'll know that J doesn't really like cake.  Instead, he wanted me to bake banana muffins, because he loves his grandma's muffins!  So, that's what I did!

After dinner, came celebration time.

Instead of using number candles, or just one (1) candle to wish J Happy Birthday, and one (1) candle for good luck, J wanted to do this and have the rest of his birthday candles on other muffins.  So, that's what we did!

When I took the photo of J blowing out his candles, I intended to immediately take another pic.

Unfortunately, I couldn't.  My batteries died, once again!  In fact, there was no pic in the memory, of what I had just taken.  Sniff sniff... this meant that I had no picture to post of J blowing out his candles.

Since I really don't like to post birthday celebrations without a photo, I decided I would use last year's pic; here it is!

Here's J with his birthday muffins, last year.
Now you're another year older!
Happy Birthday, J!
Grandma loves you!

Upon arriving home, I was rushed off my feet!  I had to prepare foods for today's lunchtime swim and BBQ time, with some of my Christian friends.

Thank You, Lord... for helping me not only prepare, but become fully organized, for our special time of fun, food and fellowship!

Here's a pic of my three (3) friends who joined me, today.

Here's W, A & her mom, P (visiting from Jamaica)!

Do you think we had a good time?  Do smiles tell the story?  Smile :) !!  I believe so!

Thank You, Lord, once again... for blessing me with great friends.

And, thank You for giving us a day that could be considered perfect.  Not too hot, but hot enough.  Not too humid.  Clear skies.  Warmth.  Yet a beautiful breeze off the water.

Sigh...  It makes me wish you could have been here with us.

Thinking about praising Him and being thankful, reminded me of another Bible verse.  In fact, it reminded me of the entire Psalm 100, "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.  Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.  Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.  Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.  For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations."

Wow!  What wonderful blessings we read about.  And, I lived, all within the last 24 hours!  Thank You, Lord!

Until next time...
