Worship Surprises!

As I am sure you are aware, today is my Lord's Day, once again!

If you've been a reader of Life with Lynnie (LwL) for a while, you'll know that I've worshipped at my church for about 18 1/2 years.  Yup!  That's a l-o-n-g time!

Normally, I would have gone to worship there today, as per my normal habit.  However, today I did not.

Today, I knew I had something to do after church, with a client who doesn't drive.  Originally, I made arrangements to pick them up after church.

But, then my client suggested I pick them up and worship at their church, today.  This way, we'd be together to go see the property they wanted to see.

Hmmm... I must admit, it only took me a second or two to think this suggestion over, before I agreed to do this!

Since their church service began at 10:00 a.m., I picked them up about 9:30 a.m.  Across town we went to their church on Windsor's west side.

Ambassador Baptist Church is somewhere I had been to on one occasion, around Christmas time 2010.

Since two (2) of my grandsons, Z and S attend the school across the street, they had been attending a children's programme on Wednesdays, at Ambassador B. C.  S had been selected to play the part of one of the three (3) wise men:  the one who brought GOLD to our Lord Jesus, after He was born.

I cannot recall if I posted a pic of S, when he participated in the play, but truly it doesn't matter.  Here he is!

In any case, until today, I had never worshipped there.

To my surprise, not only did my client/friend worship at Ambassador, but I found that two (2) other friends of mine, who I hadn't seen in a while, are now worshipping there, also!  This was quite a surprise, considering this is a rather small church.

This worship service was a little different than on most other SONdays.  It began with several baptisms.  In addition, some people became members.  Wow!  What a great day to worship, there!

I must say that it is not surprising to be reminded of Matthew 28:19-20, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

After all, with multiple baptisms this day, those people have come to realize that they needed to be obedient to God's calling to repent and be baptized.  Praise God for this!

Afterwards, we all had a chance to visit, as coffee and sweet treats were served in the fellowship room, downstairs.  Of course, it also gave me a chance to meet some of the people who worship there, on a regular basis.

All in all, it was a wonderful blessing to worship there, today.

Later, my client/friend and I drove to LaSalle, to view the property in question.  Oops... there I go again, speaking about work, after saying I wouldn't do this.  Oh well, it was relevant to today's entry.

I pray that you had a blessed Lord's day, friend.

Until next time...
