Throughout most of July this year, we've had very hot days.  It's not uncommon to experience 100 F... or 38 C, whichever you prefer to say.

If you've read Life with Lynnie (LwL) for a long time, you'll know that in the past, I've written about spending time in Northern Ireland, with family and my now deceased husband Gordon.

While temperatures blazed here around that 100F/38C range here in Ontario, we relaxed in beautiful greener than green surroundings, enjoying the cool, comfortable temperatures in N. Ireland of high 60's to high 70's.  Oooohh, how wonderful it was!

Since it is so very hot here today again, I suppose you can tell that I'm trying to keep myself cool, just thinking about this memory.  And, wishing I was there, right now!

Unfortunately, it's not working.  I'm hot beyond belief!

A few moments ago, I enjoyed a telephone conversation with a friend.  Like most people, they believe it's great to experience the heat we've been having.  It's obvious they prefer summer to winter.

Not me.

Although winter is not my favourite season either, at least I can keep myself warm.  If necessary, I can wear a sweater to take the chill off.  Or, wear a coat!

Not so in summer.  Without air-conditioning, or even with it, there are times when people suffer with this heat!  Some even die from it!

Please don't misunderstand.  I enjoy warm temperatures.  I just can't stand it when it's so hot you can fry an egg on my head!

My favourite seasons are Spring and Fall (Autumn).  If I had to choose, Autumn would be my favourite.

After all, in addition to reasonably comfortable temperatures, we enjoy the gorgeous colours of the season.  Leaves changing from green to yellow, or red makes for a visual delight!

Thinking about all this heat, made me think about hell.  Or, Hell, as some people refer to it as.

Truly, I'm not sure whether to capitalize the name, or not.  Hmmm... that reminds me of how I had trouble deciding this, when I wrote my book, Love Never Fails You....

No matter what you call it, it's hot, there!  And, it's somewhere I do not want to be.

This reminds me of Matthew 5:29, "And if your right eye causes you to offend, pluck it out, and cast it from you: for it is better for you that one of your members should perish, and not that your whole body should be cast into hell."

I'm sure you can see how thankful I am that Jesus died for me, and for the sin of all who will believe.  If Jesus hadn't done this, we would all suffer in hell.  How grateful I am that He saved me from an eternity such as this.

Friend, if you're not yet trusting in Jesus Christ, for your salvation, then please do so, today.  We are not guaranteed tomorrow.  And, it could be too late if you wait.  Jesus loves you...

Until next time...
