Expectations...

As you know from reading past Life with Lynnie (LwL) entries, I love my Lord's Day!

SONday, is such a wonderful time for me.  Yes, through the week, I pray and read my Bible.  And, wait upon Him for whatever my needs are.

But, Sunday is a special day of worship, for me.  And, rest... as long as I don't have to work.  I praise God that He is okay with this, if necessary!

This past Sunday, I worshipped at my own church.

However, this was not my typical time of worship.  There was something different.  I had someone with me.

On my way to my church, I stopped and picked up my daughter, P!

Yes, she came to worship with me.  I felt so wonderful having her beside me, throughout the service.  Thank You, Lord!

On Monday, I had originally planned to take dinner to my friend C's apartment.  However, due to having a work appointment that would tie me up at that time, I let him know that I couldn't do this.

Still, after my appointment, I stopped by to see him for a moment, before heading over to the United Way, location on Giles Blvd.  I truly didn't think I would have time, but as things turned out, I did!  Again, thank You, Lord!

My timing was great.  When I arrived at my writers' group meeting, I ran into our group leader, who had just parked his vehicle.

Together, we entered and before long, more people showed up.  All in all, we have had a great group of people.  Yes, the numbers change from meeting to meeting, but, it is a fun time.  At least for me!

Yes, there is so much to be thankful for!  Thank You, Lord.  For everything in my life!

Please don't misunderstand.  I do not have a perfect life.  But then, does anyone?  Do you?

To be honest, I've led a very stress-filled life, with many trials.  Even so, I am so very grateful for God's Word.  For in it, He has shown me that this is to be expected.  At least, in the life of a believer.

Friend, if you are living a life without trials and/or tribulations, you may want to pray about this.  You may want to pray about your walk with our Lord.

The Bible clearly tells us that we will experience trials and tribulations in this life, due to standing for Jesus.  Indeed, every time I stand up for Christ, no matter the time or reason, I can be sure the evil one will attack me.  Sometimes, by circumstances and sometimes by people.

The Bible has not only provided me with knowledge of what God expects of me, His child, but also lets me know what to expect in life.  In addition, He provides hope, through His Word.

In John 16:33 we are told, "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."

Yes, Jesus overcame the world, with all its sin and corruption.  He took upon himself not just my sin, and your sin, but the sin of the whole world... of all who will believe!

Personally, I am grateful that Jesus told us He overcame, because through my belief in His death and resurrection, He has provided for me, and for all who believe, that we also can overcome.  For this, I am eternally thankful, Lord!

Until next time...
