This past Tuesday was a great day, because I was able to have my 220 volt air-conditioner installed. This you already knew, if you read the entry I wrote in Life with Lynnie (LwL), the other day.
However, something else happened that really made my day.
Just after suppertime, I received a phone call from my daughter, B. She mentioned that her sons were getting antsy, after spending most of the day indoors. You may recall that the heat was scorching, that day!
We discussed a few options she could do with my grandsons and ended our call.
Within a few minutes after our call ended, my phone rang, once more. It was B, once again.
This time, B let me know that she was not going to bring her whole family, but she was coming to visit with three (3) of my grandsons. And, we were going to have fun in the pool, together!
And fun, we had!
B and two (2) of her three (3) sons, splashed with me in the pool. Along with a whole group of other people!
With the temperatures as high as they were, it seemed that not only was there many of my neighbours in the pool, but also were some of their visiting family members, along with them. Still, we enjoyed ourselves.
Afterwards, the wind was blowing and with the intense heat, the combination made for quick drying.
We had a snack together, in our covered picnic area. And, had some fun chatting and spending time, together.
Wow! Did I feel blessed!
That was Tuesday. Today, is Thursday.
Last evening, I was so-o exhausted that I actually climbed into bed about 9:30 p.m. And, I was out like a light!
Two (2) hours later, I woke up. And, couldn't go back to sleep. At least, until about 6:30 a.m., this morning. Then, I received a text message about 7:30 a.m. Yes, it woke me up. And, no... I didn't get another minute of shut-eye!
Since I was up and running early, I did what I normally do when it's a special day like this one. I baked a birthday cake, for B's boyfriend, S. Boy, was I happy that it rained intensely today, because with the drop in temperature, I didn't even have to use the air-conditioning, while the oven was on!
Like we usually do on birthdays, we got together for supper. B made a pan of delicious penne! Mmmmm....mmmm... good! Okay, maybe I should say, it wasn't good; it was delicious! Thank you, B!
After celebrating S's birthday with dinner, cake and gifts, I spent some time with my granddaughter, A. She has a really cute Dora book, that she wanted me to read to her. I'm not sure who enjoyed this more. A, or me!
Lord, I thank you for blessing me and healing my family.
Exodus 16:26, says "If you will diligently listen to the voice of the LORD your God, and do that which is right in his eyes, and give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you that I put on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, your healer."
No one can provide for us the way God does. His plan for our lives may not always be what we think we need, but is always what He knows we need.
If you aren't trusting Him, for everything in your life, you may want to re-think your relationship with Him.
Until next time...
