Thank you for your patience with me, yesterday. Being a special day, in remembrance of WW2's D-Day Invasion, I just couldn't resist writing about it. I hope you enjoyed the entry, and pics.
Continuing on from the day before yesterday's Life with Lynnie (LwL) entry, I'll remind you that last Saturday I participated at Chapters bookstore, at Devonshire Mall, here in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, for a book-signing event.
Due to various events going on in our area, it was suggested that book sales for me might not be as good as on a day when not much is happening.
Even so, I was there, with copies of my book, Love Never Fails You... www.lynniebooks.blogspot.com
To reiterate, at first I felt a little out of place. Being alone, without fellow authors, it felt strange to me. That was, until A showed up.
My friend A, who has read my book, and who is a very good Christian friend, decided to meet me at the store. At first, I felt a little uncomfortable having her watch me as I spoke with passers-by. But, after a few minutes, I felt myself relax, once again.
As it turned out, A and I together spoke with many people who visited my table.
Some were not Christian and had no interest in my writings, but some were Christian and very supportive. Some, opened up to us about some of their life issues. We prayed with them and for them and their families.
After A left, I was visited by my friend J, who we call B. He, as well as J & S, and M, came to say 'hi'. They were heading across the border to Detroit, Michigan, USA, for a fun day, but had decided to show me support and drop by.
Wow! Did I feel blessed!
Also, a fellow realtor friend of mine, who I hadn't seen in quite a while, and who had no idea I would be at Chapters, came by. She was shocked to see me manning the book-signing table and had no idea I had even written a book. We had quite a conversation!
I must say that not all conversations were as good as the ones I mentioned, here.
There were a few people who scoffed at the title of my book. One, sarcastically asking if I truly believe that Love Never Fails You... With a smile, I replied to her that indeed, I do believe it!
It's kind of funny thinking about what happened with that unbelieving woman. Especially, since another woman approached the table, looked at the title and then at me, and asked if I was referring to God. With a smile, I said that I was referring to God, for He is love... and He never fails us!
That reminds me of a Bible verse that is never far from my mind. In 1 John 4:16, God tells us, "And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him."
Yes friend, if we have God in our hearts, we have love for one another. If we don't have God in our hearts, it is impossible to truly love.
Oops... it seems I still have more to say, so I hope you'll stay with me, until tomorrow.
Until next time...
