Blessings and Beyond!

This morning I awoke before my alarm went off.  Even so, I just laid in bed, thinking about life.

Eventually, I urged myself to get up and moving.  lol  As you know, there are times when this isn't the easiest thing to do, but I did it!  And, I even had some breakfast!

Actually, I'm shocked that I had a proper breakfast, for most often, I do not.  However, yesterday I broke away from my normal habits, and made some blueberry pancakes.

Even though I cut the recipe in half, there were too many pancakes for this lady to feast upon.  So, yesterday morning, I placed half of them on a plate and refrigerated them, until this morning.

Some people call this leftovers.  Me?  I call them instant replays!  And, believe me, they were mmmm... good!

As you know, today is my Lord's day.  Sonday.  The day when I go worship God.

Normally, I go worship at my church, across town, on the other side of Windsor.  Today, was different.  I didn't drive through downtown to over near the Ambassador Bridge to USA.

Instead, I left home earlier than normal.  I wasn't sure how long it would take me to drive where I was going, but I estimated about 45 minutes.

Driving in the opposite direction, heading in a south-easterly direction, I made my way to a church where my friends had invited me to attend.  Cottam Baptist Church.  In Cottam, of course!

Was I ever glad I left early, for it took me all of the whole 45 minutes to drive there!

Even so, I was glad I was able to make it.  My friends had invited me, because today was the day they were becoming members of this church group.

And, in addition, there were two (2) baptisms today, as well!

What a blessing it was, to see this small church filled with so many people.  Friends and family of those who were celebrating today, filled the sanctuary.  People, like me!

The pastor's message was absolutely wonderful.  It always makes me feel good when I listen to a preacher who includes a gospel message.  Especially, since these days, not all do this.

Afterwards, together we shared a meal upstairs in their fellowship area.  What a feast this turned out to be!  Delicious to say the least.

But, also great fellowship took place.  Not just with my friends, but also with their friends and family... and their new church family.

Thank you, J & J!  I appreciated worshipping our Lord together, once again.  It had certainly been a while.  Thank you for the wonderful meal, and time of fellowship, too!  When I say I felt blessed, I truly mean it!

Just before we were to part ways, a friend of theirs came to sit with us for a few minutes.  This fellow sister-in-the-Lord, not only welcomed me, but when she found out I had written a book, Love Never Fails You... (www.lynniebooks.blogspot.com) she insisted she had to have not just one (1) copy of it, but instead, she wanted two (2) copies.  One for herself and one for a friend.

Be still my heart.  This has never before happened to me at a church.  Anywhere!  Not to mention being our Lord's day.

Even so, she insisted.  And, since I had copies in my vehicle, I made sure she received them, before I left.

Yes, God had surely blessed me, today.  With good friends, good food, and good fellowship.  Blessings, beyond what I thought was possible.

This reminded me of a passage in Deuteronomy 7, verses 11-13, "Thou shalt therefore keep the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which I command thee this day, to do them. Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the Lord thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy fathers:  And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee... "

No, I haven't been perfect.  I have made a lot of mistakes in life.  But, God has been with me, all the way.  He loved me, throughout all the good and not-so-good times in my life.  He guided me.  He saved me.  And, He is sanctifying me.  And as I am being slowly conformed into the image of His Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ, He is blessing me.  In so many ways...

If you do not yet know Jesus as your Lord, and Saviour, I ask that you do so, now.  Today.  We are never guaranteed tomorrow.  Your future depends upon it!

And, when you do, I know you also will be blessed!

Until next time...
