If you read yesterday's Life with Lynnie (LwL) entry, you'll know that in the afternoon, I crossed the border into the state of Michigan, USA.

My original plan was to visit a Christian bookstore in nearby Pontiac, Michigan, before heading to Bloomfield Hills.  This, did not happen.

Nor, was I able to arrive at Bloomfield Hills Baptist Church (BHBC), by 6:00 p.m., which was part of my plan.  Instead, I motored directly to BHBC, arriving close to 6:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, I praised God and thanked Jesus, for getting me there, at all!  While walking into the church, I prayed there would still be a seat available for me.  Once again, I thanked my Lord, for providing for me!

Immediately after locating a seat where I immediately left my coat, I made my way back into the foyer hallway.  Tables were set up by various Christian groups promoting their services.  In the lobby, I ran into a gentleman who grew up in my deceased husband's church and who used to worship with his family, at my church.

Believe me when I say that I wasn't surprised to have run into someone I know, there.  After all, I know many Bible-believing people, who enjoy Christian radio, even if most of it comes to us in our Canadian city of Windsor, Ontario, from Detroit, Michigan, USA.

When I bumped into the ex-pastor of my church in Windsor, who now pastors BHBC, I thanked him for hosting a Christian paster, guest preacher/teacher that I enjoyed listening to on radio.

The guest speaker was Alistair Begg, a Cleveland pastor, whose origin was from Glasgow, Scotland.  Alistair had been the keynote speaker in a luncheon meeting in Detroit, for pastors and their supporting assistants.  In the evening, he was scheduled to speak, once again.  This time, for the public.

Truth for Life (TfL), is the Bible teaching ministry of Alistair Begg.  Here is a LINK to TfL!  By now, I had hoped that TfL would have posted Alistair's evening sermon spoken at BHBC, but unfortunately, it has not yet done so.  Check back, if you would like to listen to what I heard that evening.

One thing I was grateful for was receiving from TfL, a CD of a sermon preached in (I believe) 1999, entitled This One Thing I Do (ID 1900) based on Philippians 3:14, "I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."  Thank you, so very much, for providing this as a gift.

Not only was I grateful for what I received, but I was thankful that there were so many other people in attendance.  About 700 like-minded people filled the pews in BHBC.  In fact, although I could not see if there were any vacant seats in the balcony, I could not see one place where another person could have squeezed in, on the main floor of the sanctuary.

We, as Christians, are commanded to support each other.

While this doesn't always happen in real life, I was glad to see so much support for a great man of God.  One who works hard, in an effort to fulfill God's Great Commission.

Alistair Begg, is a wonderful preacher/speaker/teacher, but so is my ex-pastor Donald McKay.  I praise God and thank Jesus, for the teaching I received from him.

May God bless each of these, my brothers in the Lord!

Until next time...
