Ruler of Darkness?

As you know, yesterday was October 31st; Halloween.  If you read yesterday's Life with Lynnie (LwL) entry, you'll know that Halloween is something I do not celebrate.

Not all Christians agree with me.  That's okay.  Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.  After all, each of us has to stand before Christ one day, in judgement.  I know I'll be able to stand with a clear conscience!

It makes me sad when I think of how people generally don't realize that by celebrating Halloween, they are celebrating Satan.

Now, please do not take what I said in some illogical manner.  I didn't say that anyone who celebrates Halloween is satanic.  Nor did I say that those people love the devil.  Nor did I say that they are worshipping him.  None of the these would be true statements, in my opinion.

Here is a link you can click on to read more about the issue of the Bible and the occult:  http://gospelway.com/religiousgroups/witchcraft.php  or, feel free to google the issue, yourself.

I am saying that celebrating Satan is sinful.

Don't people celebrate with haunted houses, that are meant to scare those who don't find it funny?  The spirit of fear is not of God.  The Bible verse quoted above (2 Timothy 1:7) clearly states this.

But, that doesn't mean that people aren't celebrating Satan, when they celebrate Halloween, for they are.

What do I mean when I say this?  Well, have you ever seen Halloween celebrated without witches or warlocks?  I haven't.  Many dress up as these characters, to celebrate Halloween.  In fact, a neighbour on my floor was quite proud in telling me that she was having a party with some friends to celebrate Halloween; everyone had to wear a witches hat!

Hmmm... this neighbour is obviously not a Bible-believing Christian, or she wouldn't have happily involved herself and/or any of her friends in this occultish celebration.  God hates the occult.  He told us to have nothing to do with it.  It is an abomination to Him.

How about ghosts and/or goblins?  Are they or are they not representative of the afterlife?  Yes, they are.  But, they do not represent the afterlife with God; they represent the afterlife with Satan.

Ever played Dungeons and Dragons?  I haven't, thank God!  That is a game that celebrates Satan and not our loving God.

Witchcraft and sorcery is definitely not of God.  That doesn't mean that it isn't real, though.  It is as real as the nose on your face.

God told us in Ephesians 6:12, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."

Who exactly do you think this Bible verse is referring to?  Well, in addition to other entities, it is referring to the ruler of the darkness of this world.  Satan.

God rules heaven.  Satan has power here on earth.  We live in his world.  Unfortunately.

As I have said previously, I have not been totally immune, myself.  However, once God revealed His truth to me, I chose to exalt His truth and not Satan's.  In obedience to Him.

Until next time...
