Today, was a very eventful day. In fact, close to the last 24 hours has been rather eventful! Somewhat on a personal level. Somewhat on a global level.
For starters, you're probably already aware that Osama Bin Laden was killed.
Last evening, while watching The Apprentice, programming was interrupted about 10:45 pm. A news team on the station I was watching, kept letting viewers know that President Obama was going to have an emergency news conference, not letting us know why, at first.
What I am about to say may sound trivial, probably because it is. It took close to an hour, before the President finally made his announcement.
So, why was it necessary to disrupt progamming, so that anyone watching television programmes missed the ending of their programmes?
This evening, I was speaking by telephone with an American Facebook friend of mine, L. Later, I will let you know why we were speaking long distance.
However, during our conversation, L commented that while some of her other friends were upset missing the end of their programmes unnecessarily, she was rather upset missing the end of The Apprentice, also. Like me.
L went on talking, saying something that made me laugh. She said it didn't surprise her that the President was interrupting Donald Trump's show, because it is well known that they are not the best of friends.
I laughed. I laughed so hard! Wow!
Actually, a couple more times, I laughed today!
I praise God for this, because the last couple of days have been not so good, for me. In fact, it would be honest to say that this is the lowest I have felt, in a long time.
Another thing happened that made me laugh. I chatted with a friend of mine L, who lives in England. I won't tell you about our conversation, except to say that I could hardly contain myself. She had me laughing so hard, I couldn't believe it!
Thank you, to both my friends. As I said, I really needed to be lifted up, today.
As some of you may be aware, today is Election Day, here in Canada. Our Federal government will be determined by the outcome of this election. An election was unnecessarily called for, by the opposition parties, costing us over $321 MILLION Dollars.
This did not make me happy. Even so, I did my God-given civic duty and voted, first thing this morning. I'll keep you posted as to the results.
However, I must say that the best news I had all day, was that my friend J, who just had a double-lung transplant several days ago, had her breathing tube removed, today. Praise God! She can breathe on her own. Thank You, Jesus!
This was why J's and my mutual friend L were talking by telephone this evening. We praised God and thanked Jesus for answering our prayers for J.
Even when we feel low, there is always a reason to rejoice. Joy in the Lord, is with me always, even if I am not feeling emotionally well, within myself.
God's grace always provides for me, usually through friends. Thank You, Lord!
For sure, God is good... all the time.
Until next time...
